Raspberries are a healthy snack for humans, but what about our canine friends?

Can dogs eat raspberries?

Dogs can eat raspberries in moderation. Servings should be no bigger than 1 cup and only served occasionally.

Are Raspberries Good for Dogs?

Though dogs don’t need to eat fruit for nutritional value, raspberries offer several health benefits. Raspberries are low in sugar and calories but rich in vitamin C, fiber, and manganese.

Be Wary of Xylitol

Raspberries contain high levels of xylitol, an all-natural sweetener found in many fruits, vegetables, and human food products. While xylitol is safe for humans, it can be toxic to dogs.

This doesn’t mean your dog can’t have raspberries, but moderation is essential. Xylitol can contribute to the development of hypoglycemia and liver disease, which can be life-threatening if untreated.
